My name is Paul McCarthy and I am the founder and CEO of Snapfix. I originally built Snapfix to solve my own problem, and I'd like to tell you about that here...
My background is in software development (for over 25 years), and in parallel I have always been involved in managing buildings as part of a family business - both residential and commercial buildings.
A few years ago I got really frustrated with all the inefficient forms of communication out there in relation to managing buildings and projects. There were post-it notes, phone calls, voicemails, text messages, WhatsApps, emails etc. flying all over the place, and it was impossible to manage and keep track of everything. I wanted a simple photo based solution, as simple as WhatsApp, that had the flexibility to manage everything.
I looked to the market for that simple solution, to help me get organized and efficient. Everything I found was either too complex, too forms based, inflexible, time consuming, or expensive. I just wanted something as simple as taking a photo.
I spoke with many companies and realized that there were many people like me. So I set out to build Snapfix with an obsessive focus on simplicity.
We designed Snapfix using Photos for Communication, and Traffic Lights for Collaboration. Super simple.
Many of our early customers were hotels, who were amazing - they demanded the highest quality, operated 24x7, and had a large audience of multi-lingual staff. All perfect for Snapfix.
A photo speaks a thousand words. A photo speaks every language. And everyone can use Traffic Lights:

Yellow - in progress
Green - is done.
Since then, we have been able to help all types of customers, such as office and apartment buildings, facilities, cleaning and equipment management, universities and schools, engineering and infrastructure, airports and construction sites, and field service companies. Our customers all use Snapfix in their own way.
Snapfix’s mission is to organize the world’s buildings, facilities and equipment, and get things done.
